BIM Management
BIM Management
In recent years, facility owners have adopted BIM requirements to reduce cost, lower risk and locate potential design issues. These requirements can typically be found in the project specifications under Division 01 General Conditions or sometimes called General Requirements. If you find yourself bidding on one of these projects but lack BIM experience or a BIM Manager, don’t worry, we can help. BIM Services of Florida offers complete BIM Management to comply with all BIM deliverables. If you are a construction management firm or GC, there is no need to go out and hire BIM Managers and spend thousands of dollars worth of software and equipment when it is far less expensive to outsource . With our experience, we will give you the confidence to handle the job correctly and successfully.
Our BIM Management responsibilities are as follow:
- Develop BIM Execution Plan to Meet BIM Deliverables
- Distribute Design Models
- Gather Trade Models
- Combine Multi-Discipline Coordination Model
- Run Clash Detection
- Lead Coordination Meetings
- Review Shop, Coordination and Fabrication Drawings
- Incorporate Owner Provided Facilities Management Data
- Develop As-Built Model
3D MEP Modeling and Coordination
3D MEP Modeling and Coordination
We utilize the latest and most up to date BIM technology available to streamline the BIM process. In today’s industry, most design contractors use the program REVIT which is far more sophisticated than older CAD programs. Unlike many other MEP Modeling Contractors who still use CAD, we utilize new Fabrication Add-Ons within REVIT to maximize efficiency. While other MEP Modeling contractors have to re-model every element in older programs, we are able to build on the design models supplied by the design team to more effectively make the transition from design model to constructible model. By working within the original program, we are able to reduce the additional unnecessary steps that other MEP Modeling Contractors must take, for the same end result. Our core expertise is in MEP coordination and we can guarantee that your model will not only be coordinated, but constructible with real world elements.

Fabrication and Spool Drawings
At BIM Services of Florida we utilize the latest fabrication tools to create complete and exact construction documents. By working within the original program, we are able to reduce the additional unnecessary steps that other MEP Modeling Contractors must take, for the same end result. With a little coordination, these fabrication programs allow us to turn the original design model into a constructible model with real world elements. All we require is that the contractor complete a vendor list with the appropriate material and manufacturer, and we can create exact fabrication and spool drawings. Fabrications and spool drawings can be catered to the needs of the contractor and illustrated in the way that best suits your shop or project.
BOM and Quantity Takeoffs
If a design model exists, allow us take advantage of the model to produce accurate take offs of all materials included in your scope. Quantity take offs can easily be exported and formatted in excel for review. Most MEP elements can easily be quantified by system, size or material. Leave the hard work up to us. Don’t spend days on what could take minutes with the right software.
Trimble Field Point and Total Station Layout
In recent years, use of total stations for complete and accurate layout of MEP elements has been adopted by many large CM firms. Whether it’s a project requirement or if you are interested in maximizing efficiency, we can easily establish trimble points for any elements. Some typical uses of trimble points are used for control lines, hangers, penetrations and equipment pads.
